Recorder Society Members, Are
You Ready to “Occupy” the SRS Board of Directors? Here’s Your Chance. We
are looking for volunteers to serve on our board of directors for the
upcoming 2012

In the past several years we have focused on planning our monthly meetings,
winter party, and membership. The board usually meets five or six times from
August through May. In case you’re not sure why you need to be a member of
our board of directors, let’s go over: The
Top Five Reasons You Should Be on the SRS Board (in ascending order). Ø

its benefits to our membership and our community. Ø

you are interested in serving on our board of directors, please contact Gail
Crawford (gail.crawford1@gmail.com)
or Steve Sherman (shermsj@sbcglobal.net)
before our May meeting. Sincerely, Steve

Board Letters From Friends of Eileen Hadidian Many SRS members know and love Eileen Hadidian, a Bay Area recorder and flute teacher who has given so much to our chapter and to individual members over the years. Eileen’s family is struggling with the costs for her home health care as she continues her fight with cancer. Our co-founder Billie Hamilton writes this about Eileen: Eileen was instrumental in
helping the Sacramento Recorder Society get off to a good start. She
directed membership meetings and set up workshops almost every year.
Until a few years ago, she graciously continued to do workshops for us.
Her list of directing recorder groups is very long. Our recorder
society has benefited from her dedication to us and has helped us to continue
as we are doing today. In addition to directing groups, Eileen was always
willing to teach recorder and flute in her home. Dorothy and I spent
many hours with her learning more and more about how to play both recorder
and flute. Our member and guest conductor Greta has passed along this letter for us to share as widely as possible: If you would like to keep up-to-date on Eileen’s situation, you can join the “Helping Hands” website set up for Eileen and Peter, where we share updates and send her well-wishes. I encourage you to visit: https://www.lotsahelpinghands.com/c/645575/ Thank you so very much for anything you can offer. Benefit Concert for
